The Fantastic Mr. Fox
Don't you just love Wes Anderson? I am a long time fan of his movies-The Royal Tenenbaums is perhaps one of my all time favorite movies. His cinematography (if that's what you call it) is so stylized and distinct, it reminds me of Instagram before Instagram was, well, Instagram. So when he put out his first animated feature, the Fantastic Mr. Fox, he did not disappoint. I mean how could blending Wes Anderson and Roald Dahl be disappointing? This is my ode to The Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Valley of The Dolls...Part 2
And here they are...Pocket Pixies...pattern by Gingermelon.
I am in love with Gingermelon's Etsy shop. Her designs are A-dorable. I think I didn't do too badly with my first attempt, although the blue haired pixie is looking a little frog like, but I'm anxious to try again, making some changes here and there.

Valley of the Dolls...Part 1
I have been creating up a storm over here, getting ready for some upcoming art shows. I have been especially excited about making dolls. I'm not sure why, as Kate is way past the baby doll stage, even if she never was in that stage. But, regardless I have spent endless hours creating various types of handmade dolls, all under 6 inches in height...One of the dolls that I have been perfecting are my Waldorf Dolls. Lately, I have been making this itty-bitty babies, full of beans...
Truthfully, they are not all that much easier than the limbed Waldorf-style, as I find the head and face to be the most difficult part. But, it sure is cute and the materials are much less. So I'm thinking of making some more for the next round of shows....

Behold- a Lady...
I certainly love an handmade challenge. When my sister-in-law showed me her newly scored Bamboletta Dolls, I thought, "I can do that"...So true to myself, I jumped head in before I even stepped on the plane back to NC. And behold...
There are a great many tutorials out there and a couple of good resources...
A couple of lessons I learned in making my own Waldorf doll:
I had(dare I say have?) big plans to make more, one to look like HD, and a whole closet full of clothes, but, well....tomorrow is another day. I guess I just like the challenge.

A couple of lessons I learned in making my own Waldorf doll:
- Use good quality yarn-and a lot of it- for the hair This is very important.
- Spend a lot of time getting the face just so, the devil is in the details. I think I attempted her face 10 times.
- Over stuff her-put in way more stuffing than you think is enough. You want a full, almost pudgy doll in the end. Don't skimp.
