Triple Threat?

This is the video release of Kate's First Single and Kate's First Ballad-Up on Stage. The trilogy was complete with Shooting Stars Across the Sky, but I will spare you that ditty.  The footage is a bit long in the tooth, I realize, but understand that this impromptu concert went on and on for over 30 minutes. Consequently, editing 2 of the songs down to 3 or 4 minutes was a big task...But none the less, I thought it was pretty funny...The Ballad especially reminds me of the iconic scene in The Jerk where Steve Martin explains to Bernadette Peters just how long he has been in love with her:

[Speaking to Marie in bed while she sleeps]
Navin R. Johnson: I know we've only known each other four weeks and three days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days. The first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days. And the third day seemed like a week again and the fourth day seemed like eight days. And the fifth day you went to see your mother and that seemed just like a day, and then you came back and later on the sixth day, in the evening, when we saw each other, that started seeming like two days, so in the evening it seemed like two days spilling over into the next day and that started seeming like four days, so at the end of the sixth day on into the seventh day, it seemed like a total of five days. And the sixth day seemed like a week and a half. I have it written down, but I can show it to you tomorrow if you want to see it.

WARNING:  And after a second thought, maybe listening to a 3 3/4  year old singing for 6 minutes might also  seem like nine weeks and five days for you.  Sorry.

New Shoes

Watch out...Kate has a brand new pair of pink sparkly shoes, and I can not tell you how much she loves these shoes. She can run so fast with them on. She wears them everyday, all day long. She even comes to get us in the morning with her new shoes on. Here she is demonstrating the Swiffer Sweeper with her new shoes...

Happy Birthday Grandma

Taking after her mother in craftiness, Kate made Grandma a beautiful painting for her birthday, entitled "The Little Mermaid in Acrylics". Her she is presenting her masterpiece...

Painting Baby Brother's Room

Kate and Daddy painted Baby Brother's closet the other weekend.  Kate made quite a masterpiece.

We'll Miss You Amelia

Our good friends have up and moved on us to Oakland, CA. They will be missed, but I can't wait to take them up on a visit. We had a good-by playgroup for Amelia-the biggest princess fan I know. Even Kate (not a princess fan), agreed to put a princess dress on for the occasion. (She was naturally, Ariel-The Little Mermaid.)

First here is a video snippet of the ever-popular Princess Balloon Ball:

Taking Her Wish Very Seriously

The Gang

The Happy Hooker

O-k, I have probably have become certifiable. I can not stop making these damn crocheted amigurumi. I have no earthly idea what I am going to do with all of them...Maybe I'll become that crazy old woman with all of those dolls on display in a separate room?

Something I Found Extremely Funny

I thought this was hysterical...The story is that someone had a bad flight on Virgin Airlines and wrote to Richard Branson to complain...Check out his letter...

Valentine's Day

Once a teacher, always a teacher...Kate and I hosted a Valentine's party for several of her friends.  It was a great success and I think all of the kids had a great time.  Our lesson plan included:  the making of valentines, decorating heart cookies with gobs and gobs of pink icing and oodles of sprinkles, making candy necklaces, and playing with pink gaak-gooey slime that is the coolest to touch.  The party concluded after we watched Charlie Brown's Valentine-a perennial favorite.....Here are some pics from the day...
